The design objective was to actively implement the Department of Architecture’s ethos and use the building itself as an interactive learning tool. Flexible learning spaces aim to inspire as well as encourage social interaction, discussion, engagement and debate. The physical building itself is stripped of ceilings, exposing the bare concrete structure. Surface mount services are expressed, creating an environment for research and interactive teaching.
