The design of a public ablution facility within a new park developed for the local community. The ablution building complements the existing structures and contributes to the local infrastructure. The structure is robust and simplistic, consisting of materials that are durable, low maintenance and vandal proof.

The use of brick in a new and innovative way aims to challenge the material by creating perforated walls and screens, going beyond the material’s mere representation of strength and security. As such, windows are made of perforated brick screens that enable natural ventilation and light, yet provide privacy and security.
