The Ngwenya Toll Plaza serves as a gateway to Swaziland. Its sculptural form strives to resemble the rich cultural origin of its’ people, while the tectonic character of the structure aims to convey a strong message of technological ability.
The design was influenced by two main Swazi-culture rituals, namely the Incwala and Umhlanga Ceremonies, and is based on the opposing feminine and masculine attributes of these rituals.
